Biography
The FountNHead, named for the Ayn Rand novel that calls into question the concept of conformity, is an Atlanta-based group that is aggressively attacking the monotony of modern music. While the hip-hop industry experiences a Dark Age of frozen innovation plagued by unimaginative lyrics and false senses of self, The FountNHead inspires an underground musical Renaissance, revolutionizing what it means to be an artist.
The group is composed of three close friends whose personal touches blend mellifluously into not just music, but artistic advancement. AM, as the lead vocalist, infuses their hard raps with melodic undertones, his vocal capabilities going beyond what hip-hop fans are accustomed to. His classic good looks and coy boy-next-door charm make him an interesting and welcomed foil in the group's style. Saint, on the other hand, with his unhinged rap delivery and gritty pop vocals, bridges the gap between rapping and singing. His verses combine humor and sex appeal into an explosion of creativity and smooth-flowing lyrics. His wild on-stage antics and hard hitting production skills, along with his quixotic personality and boyish good looks, leave you craving more. Lastly, breath-takingly gorgeous and barely taking a breath between verses is tough cookie Jewels, the one girl in the group, who will leave you gasping for air. Instead of fading into the background of a male-dominated culture and industry, she commands the stage as an energetic powerhouse who demands your attention.
After having formed a tight bond born of their common quest for self-actualization, the three self-taught and self-disciplined members decided to write and produce their own music in order to provide a voice for the young generation lead astray in this era of information overload. Empowered by what seems to be a sense of urgency, their sound is edgy, and their words are bred of vision. They fluidly blend pop and rock into their raps, creating a whole new fusion of punk-hop. Borrowing sounds from a wide variety of genres and utilizing themes from the angry children of their generation, the sarcasm of their lyrics stings, while the sincerity satisfies.
The FountNHeads sound is electric, their style eclectic, and their personalities eccentric. Their debut release, Party Naked, captures their innovative style and cynical social commentary over infectious beats and rhythms, and begs diverse crowds to come out to play.
